BRIAN S. GOULD, M.D.

Dr. Brian Gould has an extensive career in healthcare financing, international healthcare systems, and healthcare information technology (HCIT).

Educated at the Johns Hopkins University and the School of Medicine of the University of California at San Francisco, Dr. Gould, a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, practiced clinical psychopharmacology at the Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, before embarking on a career in healthcare management. Dr. Gould served as Senior Vice President and Corporate Medical Director of Blue Cross of California, Senior Vice President of Specialty Operations at United HealthCare, Chief Executive Officer of United HealthCare's Global Services Division, and most recently, Managing Director of the WorldWide Services Division of Arcus Enterprises Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of WellPoint, Inc. He has extensive experience developing healthcare joint ventures in the United States, the Republic of South Africa, the European Union, Hong Kong, China and India.

Dr. Gould has maintained an active consulting practice emphasizing innovative healthcare information technology, and he has served as an advisor to a number of healthcare enterprises, including Discovery Health LLC, South Africa, McKesson (hospital systems); RxHub LLC, NaviMedix Inc; the Medforma division of Ginality, Inc.; University of Washington Department of Pharmaceutics; and MedDirect Health Benefits. In addition, Dr. Gould has been an advisor to such private investment firms as Accel Partners, SV Life Sciences and Capitol Health.


THOMAS C. GEISER, J.D.

Thomas C. Geiser is a Senior Advisor to TPG Capital, a private investment firm with more than $50 billion of assets under management. He has served as advisor and legal counsel to numerous healthcare organizations with a focus on healthcare financing and delivery.

Mr. Geiser served as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of WellPoint Health Networks Inc. from its inception in 1993 until 2005. As WellPoint’s chief counsel, he was extensively involved in all of the company’s mergers and acquisitions and in its numerous public securities offerings. He was responsible for WellPoint’s legal, legislative and regulatory affairs in 50 states and served as its principal contact with state and federal regulators. He was also responsible for all of the company’s litigation, including the litigation of its affiliated Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans and health insurance companies.

Prior to joining WellPoint, Mr. Geiser spent 15 years as an attorney in private law practice, coming to WellPoint from Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in San Francisco, California. He was also a partner in Epstein, Becker, Stromberg & Green and in Hanson, Bridgett, Marcus, Vlahos & Stromberg in San Francisco.

Mr. Geiser received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and his B.A. from the University of Redlands. He has been elected to Best Lawyers in America and was named to 100 Most Influential Attorneys in California by California Law Business.

Mr. Geiser is a member of the Board of Directors of Surgical Care Affiliates and the Advisory Board of the Stanford University Institute for Research in the Social Sciences.


JOHN A. MEYERS, J.D.

John A. Meyers is a Partner with the law firm, Erwin, Cohen & Jessup and Co-Chair of the firm's Health Care Law Department. He has more than 20 years experience in both the domestic and international arena as a specialist in healthcare law. Mr. Meyers advises clients on diverse issues such as healthcare acquisitions and restructurings, managed care and integrated delivery systems, payer-provider transactions and relationships, purchase and management of physician groups, payment and reimbursement issues, federal and state regulatory compliance programs and agency or regulatory investigations. Mr. Meyers also has developed an innovative series of negotiating seminars whereby teams of participants negotiate health care contracts of many types in a competitive environment that teaches negotiating techniques as well as substantive legal and business issues.

Before joining Ervin, Cohen & Jessup LLP, Mr. Meyers led the Los Angeles Healthcare Practice Group for the Century City Office of the Chicago-based law firm of Katten Muchin Zavis & Weitzman. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel, Chief Operations Counsel, Chief Counsel - International Affairs, and Special Counsel to the CEO of Tenet Healthcare Corporation (formerly National Medical Enterprises, Inc.) and had previously served as General Counsel to Summit Health Ltd.

Mr. Meyers is a frequent speaker for healthcare and professional legal organizations in the areas of his expertise. He is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association; the American Bar Association; the National Health Lawyers Association and is currently on the Executive Committee of the Business Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association.

Mr. Meyers is admitted to the State Bar of California. He received his LL.B. from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law, and his A.B. from the University of California at Berkeley.


DAVID HOLDER

David Holder is the Managing General Partner for Holder Capital Partners, a Southern California focused, early stage, consulting practice, accelerating healthcare companies in the delivery/services, healthcare information technologies, devices and diagnostics segments. Since 1980 Mr. Holder has worked with and invested in nine early stage healthcare ventures and on average returned 6.9 times the invested capital for each venture. Holder Capital Partners has two current portfolio investments.

From 1996 through 2001, Mr. Holder was a Founding Venture Partner at Mission Ventures where he helped raise its initial $63 million fund. During his tenure at Mission, a total of $288 million was raised in two funds. Prior to Mission Ventures, Mr. Holder was instrumental in the founding and/or early stage development and funding of more than ten companies including Pyxis, TheraTx, Caremark, and EDiX. In 1995, Pyxis and TheraTx ranked number one and number two, respectively, on the “Inc. Magazine” list of the 100 fastest growing public companies. The approximate current market value of these investments far exceeds $5.8 billion.

Mr. Holder’s background also includes staff and line management responsibilities with two divisions of Baxter Laboratories, and as Director of Sales for the McGaw division of American Hospital Supply Corp. In addition, he held VP and General Management positions at Bergen Brunswig Medical (now AmerisourceBergen) and Caremark.

Mr. Holder has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Delta State University in Cleveland, MS.
